Past date bottle, gusher. Aroma is strong with Bretty wild yeast. Flavour is similar but beneath the remnants of the barley wine are there with dried fruit and sugars. Not the aged barley wine I expected.

Bottle 500ml. - [ during RBESG14 ]. [ As Quantum Barleywine USA ].Unclear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, barnyard - Gueuze alike, sour, sweet malt - fruit, overriped fruit - rotten fruit. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light moderate acidic with a long duration, dry, tart, fruity, funky. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20140807]

Warm golden colour, white head. Funky aroma, light sweat, barnyard. Sour flavour, malts, lemon zest, saison yeast. Funky finish, malts, sour notes. Not so much a barley wine, more resembling a strong American style saison imho.
(from bottle @ RBESG, London 2014. Thanks for sharing, Leighton!)

Bottle shared. Hazy orange color, full sized soapy white head. Smell and taste rotting fruits, overripe fruits, sourness, fruit peel, yeasty, not a barley wine at all.

RBESG pt 2. Brewdog Shepherds Bush. Bottle thanks to Leighton. Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and dry, mildnfine carbonation. Strange barleywine! Mellow sourness, mild guezey vibe, generic fruits. Light dry finish. Mmmm curious stuff but not unpleasant.

Bottle shared during RBESG. Pours clear gold with a foamy white head. Smells like this has a vicious infection: sour wheat, lemon, wood. Light sweet flavor with woody bitterness, lemon rind, faint apple, some hay, mild alcohol. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Tangy finish, some further citric lemon, hay, wood, mild booze. Interesting.

Bottle shared thanks to Leighton. Aroma is big Brett funk, horse, light caramel. Flavour is medium sweet malts, touch of caramel then big Brett, funk, light tart. It’s pleasant but I’m not sure it was intentional. Translucent yellow coloured pour with lasting bug white head. Interesting beer despite the infection.

Bottle - Bubblegum and light fruits. Cloudy gold with a rich white head. Effervescent and lightly sour. Tastes like an odd Berliner Weiss liqueur child with the worst aspects of both. .
