Bottle shared at the ’Beers of London’ Tasting MkII, Bespin Cloud City - Hyde Park zone, thanks to KennyBob 11/02/15. Rich amber orange with a decent light beige head that dissipates to edgework. Nose is big dark fruits, spice, almond, toasted brown sugar, amaretto biscuit, booze fumeage. Taste comprises bitter fruit rinds, hints of Cointreau, marshmallows dipped in booze, citric peel, spice, sweet licks, hint of Unicum herbalisms. Full full body, oliy and cloying, warming alcohol rush in the close. Decent sipper - pretty drinkable for the ABV.

Bottle shared at Leightons pad. Many thanks to Kenny for this one. Aroma is big hot alcohol, orange peel, light caramel. Very bright orange clear pour with no head, very viscous. Flavour is full earthy, honey, light caramel, sticky sweet, liquorice, honey. Palate is velvety, syrup, honey, sticky sweet. Spicy notes, dried raisin. Big beer, mellow and smooth. Packs a punch but surprisingly mellow.

Bottle thanks to Ken. It pours deep orange-amber with a quickly dissipating head. The nose is rich, big Cointreau character, oily orange, orange sponge cake, sweet, sugary, pepper and toasty bread. The taste is rich, oily, juicy fruits, Cointreau, spicy alcohol, chilli pepper, orange sponge cake, muffin, nectarine and plenty of warming alcohol. Full body, limited carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Sweet for sure, but a rather good example of Eisbocking.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Kenneth for this one. Pours clear, bright reddish gold with minimal head. Spicy aroma, some herbs, menthol. Hugely sweet flavor with stinging alcohol, some ginger spice, honey, booze. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Hot finish, lots of oily caramel and honey, alcohol, more spicy ginger. Definitely punchy but a bit engaging.

Bottle at Craig’s this was a nice surprise. Pours deep amber. Nose of dried fruits and hint of booze. tastes jammy, of Christmas spices like cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon, you also get the Christmas classic fruit cake. high carbonation cuts through the other weirdness and some how it all works.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours amber with a no head, but nice legs in the glass. Aromas of spice and smoke, sherry liqueurs, dried fruit. Taste is more of the same. Surprising gentle carbonation. Finishes sticky and sweet, but holds up to the booziness. Grand.
