Our Chelsea Blonde is built on a base of extra pale malts that allow a unique medley of gooseberry, grapefruit, lychee and lime to fully express itself. With jumping floral undertones, and extra wheat for body, this charismatic beer offers a remarkable breadth of flavour and a discrete, citrus based palate.

Cask pint on 18th Nov 2016 in The Paxton (West Norwood) and a keg half-pint at the brewery on 19th Nov 2016. Both golden, clear pours with white heads: keg version a bit more carbonated as you’d expect. Floral nose with a tropical fruit leaning, citrus flavoured with both grapefruit and pineapple to the fore. Liked it in both forms.

Can at the Quayside Pub, Whitstable. Poured a light straw colour with a frothy broken white head. The aroma is yeast, citrus, light malt, light hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a citrus fruit, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. The can was nice. The beer was average.

Half, cask at Scottish Stores, Kings Cross. A filmy layer to clear golden body. Moderate fruit hoppy small, notes of ripe citrus. Mid-sweet fruity flavours, moments of pineapple and grapefruit bitterness towards the ending. Thirst quenching. True to the style, more or less (London 10.04.2016).

Bottled. Slightly hazy yellowish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is bready, some floral, grassy and mild wooden notes to it. Flavour is rather similar with some mild sweet malts to it as well. Quite standard golden ale, which is inoffensive in any way. 5 3 5 3 (January 2016)

Lightly hazy gold beer, thin white head. Palate is light, semi dry and mildly crisp. Thin dry malts. Dry floralness. Trace of lemony citrus. Dry finish. Mild bitter linger. Too dry and a little on the dull side.
