33 cl bottle. Pours hazy brown with a small off white head. Aroma is toasted malty and light fruity. Slight phenolic. Sweet, toasted malty and light breadish. Fruity and light hoppy finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear reddish brown with a small, off-white head. Sweet chocolate aroma, but also a somewhat unclean manure note. Medium body, heavy roast with an underlying sweetness. Not bad. 090914

Well, I am confused. This beer was definitely "Ashes Two Mashes", not "Ashes To Mashes" but I thought it was from Edge Brewing. (Hand pump at The Royston) Hazy dark chocolate brown with good tan head. Little aroma, but reminded me of porridge. Soft creamy texture - very unusual - sort of like a latte, but cold. Amazing taste - coffee, chocolate and hazelnut. Some nicely source and bitter notes in finish. Overall, very unusual - wouldn’t drink it all the time. Works very well. Oddly it says "breakfast beer" to me.
