Bag in box (7,5% ABV). Murky, dark golden/orange body with a thin off-white head. Aroma has malt, caramel, Brett, funk, lemon, barnyard, wood and red, sour berries. Taste is sweet and sour, mostly sour like lemon, acid berries and vinegar but there is some kind some sweet caramel/brown sugar sweetness in the base flavor with a funky complexity from barnyard, yeast, wood and leather. It give a slightly raw first impression with e deeper complexity set of flavors through several layers. The biggest advance with this kind of boxes is the possibility to sample the beer by several occasions in combination with different kind of food and moods, and you just need a small glass most of the time. It’s complexity is reflect by the way it tastes a quite lot different each time with different kind of food. May be samples with a big variety like different kinds of cheese, meat, bread and even fish. It’s interesting to experience the way the brown sugar flavor may be totally camouflaged in some combinations and then be brought forward almost like the main flavor by certain dishes. Such a fun beer to play with. A really nice Faro.

(Draught at Billie's Bier Kafétaria, Antwerpen, 18 Oct 2018) Dark amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, sourish nose with dark fruit, balsamic vinegar, cellar and brown sugar. Fruity, tart taste with notes of tart berries, cellar, oak wood, vinegar, burnt sugar and an acidic finish with a slight sweetness. Medium body. Really nice surprise. I usually find faros too sweet or fairly boring, but this was really tasty and complex. Very nice.
