tried at the bath ale house. Cloudy red gold colour with a big white head. Aroma has spice, the taste is dry with a nice Belgian yeastiness.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co Islington, London, 28 Nov 2014) Hazy amber colour with brief, white head. Fruity, wheaty nose with notes of citrus, orange peel, a touch of banana and floral hops. Malty, fruity taste with wheat, citrus, orange, apricots, banana, biscuits and a gentle citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Fresh and tasty. Quite nice.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - amber with some head but then it disappears. Nose - toffee, but more honey really, and a disconcerting farmyard note. Taste - yes, dirty and earthy with honey over the top. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy/tangy texture and a finish that is too sweet really. Overall - it’s lacking that Belgian yeast tang that takes the richness away. I’d be disappointed if I got this in Belgium.

330ml bottle shared with AshtonMcCobb. Pours hazy amber, thin off-white head. Light yeast esters, light dirty honey. Taste is more of the same, light sweet note too. OK, but not great.

330ml bottle. Hazy amber colour with huge, firm, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Wheaty and yeasty aroma, notes of banana, bread, a herbal-yeasty touch of brine. Taste is moderately sweet wheaty, notes of banana, a touch of bubblegum, maybe orange zest, some bread, minimally tart, herbal and yeasty counterweight with a salty touch. A wheaty crossover, not explicitly Belgian (except for the yeasty notes), at least not exclusively traditionally spiced, additionally delivering a Gose-ish salty touch and banana notes of German Hefeweizen-typical intensity. Slightly cumbersome and unamenable.

Cloudy amber beer, decent pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry, fine carbonation. Light malts, floralness and a pleasant sweet ester. Very light touches of spice and citrus. Light dry finish. Not bad at all. Citrus gets stronger at the very end.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy amber body with a thick off-white head that slowly fades. Low carbonation. Excellent lacing. Aroma of brown sugar, spruce, banana, fig and Belgian yeast. Flavour of honey, candy sugar, pine needles, caramel and wood. Medium body with a chewy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A really unusual, interesting beer. Is it a Dubbel? Wheat Ale? Witbier? I like that I couldn’t quite figure it out.
