Bockbierzeit – so nannte sich in den 50er Jahren unsere fast vergessene fünfte Jahreszeit, zu dieser die Brauereien Hamburgs gemeinschaftlich ihren Doppelbock brauten. Seit 2015 beleben wir diese Tradition neu und brauen unseren Hamburger Senatsbock. Wir, das sind die fünf Hamburger Brauereien Blockbräu, Gröninger, Joh. Albrecht, Kehrwieder Kreativbrauerei und Ratsherrn. Mit Liebe zur Hamburger Geschichte, zum Brauhandwerk und zur Gemeinschaftlichkeit! Fünf Malze verschmelzen zu einer cremigen, komplexen Konsistenz. Leicht nussig im Antrunk, drückt sich der Senatsbock sanft in den Gaumen. Röstmalzaromen von Zartbitterschokolade und Espresso vereinen sich mit einer feinen Säure und einer ausgewogenen Bittere. Wir sind schon ein wenig stolz auf unsere neue, tiefdunkle Schönheit, gewidmet unserer tosenden Waterkant und der rauhen Winterwitterung zum Jahresanfang. Jawoll!

Bottle purchased from Craftbeer-Shop.com Webshop, Parchim. I had this Saturday 21st March 2020 at home Attenkirchen, listening to the Kostas music choice and cooking Tiropita (Greek Cheese Pie) and Ultimate Chicken Shwarmas. We have Kostas with us. Pours very dark brown, almost black with a cappuccino coloured head. Quite beefy, some stock, a little soft mouthfeel, some, malty. A little dark fruit presents itself, good.

06-04-19 // taster at Spring Beer Days Hamburg. Dunkel, röstmalzig. Vollmundig, super körper, leicht cremig. Kaffee und Schokolade. Gut.

0,33 l bottle from Craft Beer Store, Hamburg. Pours out in dark red brown, and so far as I can see, it´s clear. More than one finger but fast fading beige head. Malty smell, little bit fruity. Taste is also malty, low sweetness, some fruity elements. Increasing roasted malt in the second part. Present hop in the background and also some cabonation. Balanced stuff.

Bottle, 7.3%. Good malty aroma, dark sugar and vanilla. Clear dark brown colour. Small frothy light brown head. The flavour is nicely malty with a good vanilla note. Has dark sugar, but is not sugary. Late vanilla note as well. Tastes barrel aged, and really good.

Bottle, 7.3 %. Pours hazy dark brown with airy tan head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel, with notes of chocolate and touches of yeast. Bitter, roasty flavour with notes of yeast and caramel malt and touches of smoke. Estery,mroasty and smoky aftertaste. A very nice one.

Bottle. Dark brown turning to black. Nearly no head. Aroma of malts and espresso. Taste is roasted malts, espresso and dark chocolate wth a pleasant hoppy bitterness. Medium carbonation. Rather süffig but the aftertaste is unfortunately a little bit too malty-sticky-sweet (like a non-alcoholic Malzbier). Decent Doppelbock.
