(650mL bottle from brewery, labeled 3.8% ABV, 12 IBU) Pours a clear pale gold with a big, short-lived head of large white bubbles, no lace. Aroma is fairly strong, bright citrus juice (lemon, orange?), without real rind or pith character, along with some spice/pepper, light grainy malt comes through. Flavour has some juicy lemon, lean pale malt, dry and mineral, some light spice from mid-palate on, finishing dry with light bitterness from hops/grain - seemed more than 12 IBU. Light-bodied, carb was restrained and not too spritzy but some may have come out in head. I liked this, very easy-drinking but flavourful, and the saison yeast and Amarillo hops work well together. This is like a ’lite’ version of an American Farmhouse.
