(Cask at Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell, London, 23 Nov 2016) Dark brown colour, almost black, with foamy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, dark chocolate and vanilla. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt, some vanilla and a generous coffee bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Tasty porter, with lots of coffee. Very nice.

Cask at CBC Clerko, 24/11/16. Extremely farm mahogany brown with a decent light tan cap. Nose is sweet malt, light coffee bean, spice, vanilla whisper. Taste comprises chocolate, tangy dark fruit rinds, vanilla extract, biscuit, light coffee grinds. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close. Not sure this one had long left in it !

Cask at craft beer Co Clerkenwell, for the tap takeover. A mahogany brown coloured pour with reddy hues and a beige loose head. Aroma is woody roasted coffee, choc, powdered chocolate, faint vanilla sweetness, faint orange on the nose. Flavour is composed of semi sweet malts, brown malts, bitter dark chocolate, woody earthy roasted coffee, not huge on the flavour. Palate is semi sweet, little watery, good cask condition. Pretty good. Lingering dry chocolate and bitter dark chocolate.

Cask at Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell - London. Pours clear reddish brown with a frothy, tan head. The nose holds light roast, dry coffee, cocoa. Light sweet flavour with some bittersweet cocoa, soft roast, earthy hops, leathery berries, toast, hints of day vanilla pods. Light bodied with fine carbonation; decent condition. Dry in the finish, with more earthy bitterness, bitter chocolate, aged berries, hints of vanilla, burnt toast. Not bad.

Cask at Craft Clerko. It pours darkest brown with a bubbly beige head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, loads of coffee, coffee cake, chocolate, brownies and vanilla fudge. The taste is bitter, rich roasted malts, plenty of coffee, ashy, dark chocolate, charred wood, fruit cake, earth, pepper and a touch of vanilla. Medium body and soft carbonation. Decent stuff.
