Draught @ Coin-Op, San Diego. Aroma has bready malt, hay and some bush leaves. Flavour has harsh malt and some wood. Finishes with menthol, bready malt, berries and leathery notes. Not my thing, too much berries here.

30th May 2015: live rating of a bomber with a beef curry. Poured three times into a La Chouffe tulip glass. Hazy deep amber pour, lightly tanned head. Hop front to the brew however the malty molasses almost balance out the bittering hoppiness, but not quite. Bitter and semi-sweet flavours battle it out in the mouth, I liked it: not the right beer to have with a curry but a very pleasant beer all the same.

Bottled 650ml (AbM, 09/2014, lot LXR52314)
Deep amber color, good off-white head, lace. Semi-gusher bottle. Caramel, grassy hoppyness and hints of alcohol in the nose. Medium-bodied. Even this is a bit old bottle, flavor doesn’t feel old. Malty, caramelly backbone. Berryish with hints of earthy hoppyness. Light citrus and caramalt in the aftertaste. Some alcoholic kick too. Quite typical American amber and certainly plays more with malts than hops.
