While sinking tankards in ancient beer caves near the foot of the Alps, inspiration struck — and at that exact moment, THE CRISP was born. The can in your hand turns obsession to reality. Now that’s Crisp.
We went to Germany for this one. (Well went back really: we first devised this beer while counting yeast cells in a German lab, and sinking liters in underground caves.) Anyway, when it comes to German hops, American breweries get the leftovers… the less desirable plots, amalgamated into a “hop sausage.” Instead, at Sixpoint we go straight to the source for the prime cuts — the Tettnanger and Hallertau hops in THE CRISP are sourced 100% directly from farmers in Tettnang, Germany. This way we personally select what goes into our beers.
Tettnang and Hallertau Hops, 100% sourced directly from Germany, give THE CRISP that signature floral aroma. Cargill Pilsner Malt is the backbone, and helps make the finish snappy and clean.
Legit pilz has a hop aroma that leaps from the glass — THE CRISP blasts you with a huge floral aroma, but finishes crisp, clean, and refreshing.

16 oz can, best before Sept 25 2011, traded to me by JoeBeerBelly. Thanks Joe!
42 IBUs...this should be good, or not.
This pours a straw gold, slightly hazy, has a 1 finger head of foam with very few bubbles rising to the surface. Gorgeous lacing to boot...for some reason, this pour strikes me as a well poured draught beer.
It smells very Pilsener with a fairly meaty amount of malt and a well above average nose of hops...lots of citrus in that there smell. Very nice.
And the taste backs up the smell and then takes it up a notch. Solid malty backbone with a superb citrusy, somewhat piney flavour of hops that comes from the dry hopping. Some bits of grass as well. Good lord, this is one tasty son of a gun and I can't help but lift my glass way to often. Very crisp overall and dry, and superbly drinkable, and marvelous.
Okay, this one is hitting the spot like crazy. This has to be in the top 3 German Pilseners I've tried. Kudos to Sixpoint and kudos to Joe, but where's the reference to the "Sehr"(very, in German)?? ;^)
Update: This is a 12 ounce can from Brooklyn.

Can at The Moon and Spoon, Slough. Aroma is grainy malt, mild but pleasant fruity hops, citrus, grassy. Flavour is nicely bitter. Body is medium. Almost an IPL, it’s that well-hopped. Very refreshing, they weren’t kidding when they named this "Crisp".

Strong hop aroma. Moderate hoppy bitter taste similar to a pale ale. Crisp finish with lingering bitterness. A little malt sweetness way in the background.

Tap. Clear deep golden color with white head. Aroma is mildly buttery, grassy. Taste is the same, solid grassiness, some fruits too, bitter finish. Oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Alright!
