This beer is a collaborative effort with the legends from Vertical Coffee Roasters. Denise and Simone were generous with their vast erxpertiese and an absolute pleasure to collaborate with. After extensive coffee tastings and beer infusions, we determined the kind of bean and the kind of roast that would best work with our base beer. We then barrel aged green coffee beans on a rye bourbon barrel for 2 weeks, after which Vertical roasted the beans to specification. The roasted coffee beans were then infused into the base beer to produce an immensely complex (yet drinkable!) porter with layers and of complexity from this unique coffee roast.
