Fragrant, pleasantly soft roasted malt notes paired with fine notes of berries and dried fruit give a hint of a special treat! A powerful, malty aromatic body emerges from the fine-pored, compact foam. Beautifully soft and mildly structured, the aromas of berries and ripe cherries leave a mild sweetness, which in the finish is replaced by a slight bitterness of hops.

Bottle picked up from Sulzberger Bierhaus Pffafenhofen an der Ilm and consumed at home Thursday 24th November 2022 listening to Marc Riley on 6Music, we didn't have Chicken Chowder tonight, neither of us were that hungry so we settled for cheese, bread, pickles etc. Pours chestnut brown, clear as a bell with an off white head. Toffee, roasted nuts, caramel and a big dollop of maltiness, dark sugars. This has a nice soft mouthfeel, there is a little dark fruit, it is very good.

Müllerbräu Bavariator, Fläschchen von Getränke Hörl, Wolnzach. - Dunkelrotbraun, klar. - In der Nase sattes dunkles Malz von bocktypischer Schwere, Karamel, dezente süße Frucht, Rosinen, leichte herbale Hopfung, sehr rund. - Antrunk fett dunkelmalzig und melanoidinreich mit reicher sirupartiger Süße, die durch milde Fruchtigkeit, einen Hauch von Lakritz und noch mildere Hopfung nur knapp ausbalanciert wird. Milder rezent, breit; gut kaschierter Alkohol. Im Abgang feine Herbe. - Fett dunkelmalziger, runder Doppelbock; sortentypisch mild gehopft - was noch angängig wäre - aber auch ein wenig leer. Bottle 330ml. @ home. [ As Müllerbräu Bavariator ].Clear medium amber red - brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, sweet malt, brown sugar, alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average duration, burnt sugar bitter, caramel, brown sugar, malty, dry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20150106]

Dunkel kastanienbraunes Bier mit ordenlticher beiger Schaumkrone. Geruch nur leicht röstmalzig, wenig Karamell, leicht alkoholisch, sehr arm an Aromen. Geschmack mild röstmalzig, leicht schokoladig, Karamell, minimal alkoholisch.

Pours a dark brown color, clear, with an average beige head. Malty aroma and quite some amount of grainy notes. Tiny presence of roasty aroma. The taste is sweet, hardly any roasty presence, but it has that dark lager feel. Not the best one, to be fair.

(Bottle) Dark brown colour with dense, beige head. Malty nose with dark bread, caramel, a touch of chocolate and brown sugar. Malty, roasted taste with notes of caramel, chocolate, raisins, brown sugar, dark bread and a gentle spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and fairly well balanced doppelbock, but possibly not the most interesting in the style. Quite enjoyable.

Bottle at Ungstrup’s. Pours clear amber with airy off-white head. Clear malty aroma with notes of caramel. Sweet, malty flavour with caramel notes and subtle touches of dried fruit. Sweetish aftertaste. OK but rather anonymous.
