Ever wonder what happens when Kyle from Horus pokes in and brews a beer with us? We brew the biggest stout we’ve ever done together pushing the limits of the limits of what we can really do on our 10bbl system, watching basketball in the brewery while the beer boils for an eternity. A grain bill so involved that we had to add lines on the brew log for. This beer was boiled to over 40 degrees Plato, starting its fermentation off with a super dense wort destined for barrels. The small amount we didn’t put in barrels was then conditioned on hundreds of pounds of toasted coconut, sugar maple wood, and an irresponsible amount of Tongan and Mexican vanilla beans (as if the coconut wasn’t irresponsible already.) This small release is very limited, and not intended for cellaring, so please enjoy this incredibly decadent bottle fresh!

12oz bottle is a leggy caramel brown. No head. Appears still. Nose is cakey, brownie batter, booze, caramel. Sticky toffee pudding flavor with brownie batter and buffalo trace. Full, fully sweet too.

Poured up on tap at tipsy where it exhibits a deep dark colored void of a body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up dark chocolate, fudge, vanilla and then some booze at the end of the draw. The taste delivers smooth slick sweet rich malts, a lasting sliver of plum to grape jam like sweet fruity esters as well as growing chocolate to dark chocolate goodness. To midway rich slick sweet vanilla intercedes and later joins the mild booziness to take this into the finish. Terrific sipper.

On tap at Wren House, pours jet black with a small light brown head. Aroma has huge vanilla beans and coconut upfront, with plenty of dark sugars. Flavour is ridiculously rich, with intense vanilla beans and stupid amounts of coconut, backed by sweet dark sugars. Over-the-top, but the vanilla and coconut character are so good that it's forgivable. Tasty, extreme, but totally inelegant, non-BA pastry.
