On tap @ Amundsen 2011.11.14 Dark brown, almost black body with a thin beige head. Nice malty aroma with moderate smoke and some fruity hops. Flavor is sweet malty, light roasted, some smoke, fruity and moderate bitterness. Medium body. Quite nice, good flavor, but a bit sweet and relatively moderate smoke level.

Fra kran på Beer Palace, Oslo 31 Okt 11. Kullsort med en anelse rødfarge. Nesten ikke skum. Det lille som er fester seg til glasset. Behagelig røykaroma. Litt sjokolade. Balansert smak. Lakris, sjokolade med en touch av røyk. Avslutter passe bittert & tørt. En koseporter!

Black with a brown head - some smoke in the aroma - good malt body and smoke that lingers for some time into the finish - nice

Tap @ Amundsen, Oslo. This is a deep deep brown-red beer with a thin and quickly sidesticking beige head. The aroma is both roasted and heavy on the chocolate! More notes of some fruity black currants and a little smoke. Not to much, but a nice touch absolutely. Average carbonation on this, it's medium bodied and the mouthfeel is light oily to watery. Lots more smoke in the taste! Tons more than in the aroma. Also some roasted malts, chocolate, thin coffee and perhaps even some dark fruits. It has a nice and quite lingering both smoky, roasted and chocolate-aftertaste. Quite nice stuff, but it would have been even better if it had a bit more body.

Three tasters, each 100ml, draught at Amundsen. Fawn-coloured, lacing-head at the top of coal-black body. Moderate smell of smoked malts and leafy hops. Careful peaty taste with chocolate malts and liquorice. Dusty dry ending. Likable, maybe the best I have had at the brewpub so far (Oslo, 26.09.2011).

Smallish beige head. Opaque black body goes deep dark brown at edges. Roasty chocolatey aroma with licorice and faint smoke notes. Dry-sweetish roasty chocolatey taste with smoky minty notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish roasty salmiak licorice aftertaste with herbal smoky notes. A bit plain and austere when cold, but improves substantially on warming up. (0.5 draft at brewpub.)
