Cask at Royal Standard, Derby. Pours golden amber with a small foamy off-white head and good lacing. There’s hops and caramel in the aroma plus hints of orange peel. In the mouth it is quite sweet with a creamy texture but also a little underlying bitterness. Flavour has mixed hops, caramel and malts with traces of summer fruits and tangerine coming later leading to a slightly fruity finish. Not at all bad for Shepherd Neame !

0.5 l bottle. Pours clear golden colour with no head. Very slight aromas of some hops, malts combined with metallic notes. In taste it has the same characteristics with a short-to-medium lasting, bitter finish. Light body, lively carbonation. Way too thin and watery.

Ståfarget. Klar. Skumring. Aroma av kjeks & litt frukt. Smaken som aromaen. Balansert. Lett rørr bitter & fruktig avslutning.

Shared with Finn, half-pint. Clear amber coloured body, filmy layer, upper part lacing on the glass. Moderate smell of mid-sweet malts and ripe fruits. Decent malt-fruity flavours, hints of caramel and ripe fruits with a bite of leafy bitterness to the ending. Quite alright. (London, 11.02.2025).
Bready, fruity, malty

Cask at The Crown, Blackheath. It was an easy going cask pale ale. Somewhat on the caramel side of a pale ale. No discernable flavours coming out. Somewhat macro but cask enough. (27/9/24).
