A new school testament to the tradition of brewing beer with grapes. It is a blend of 25% Santa Lucia highland Riesling from Mer Soleil Vineyard and 75% Pilsner from Cismontane. This beer is brewed entirely with Nelson Sauvin hops. Soured with Lactobacillus to enhance the natural grape acidity and fermented with a blend of wine and beer yeast. This process highlights the flavors that beer and wine have in common. The collaboration beer made by longtime friends Charlie Wagner and Evan Weinberg.

Bottled. A golden beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of leoms, hops, straw, and a bot of malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of lemons, straw, hops, and a bit of malt, leading to a bitter finish.

Draft at the brewery tap in Rancho Santa Margarita on 23rd May 2016. The board said it was 40% Wine and 60% Beer, didn’t notice the grape variety or base beer. Anyway it poured a very pale, light golden colour and had no head worthy of note. It was ’winey’ in it’s aroma and taste, quite pleasant actually.

[2/11/15] Draught at Toronado in San Francisco. Clear golden. Aroma of apples, grapes and white wine. Flavor is yeasty, spicy, slightly sweetish, with a light acidic note with apples and grapes. Medium-bodied. Interesting. Could’ve been nicer if it had more sourness.
