Bottle from Beer Ambleside. Appearance - amber with a very thin head. Nose - light ginger biscuit. Slight citrus. Taste - sweeter biscuit this time, perhaps with toffee. Palate - light bodied and fairly refreshing. Overall - decent.

Cask at GBBF: Poured a golden with white head. Aroma is perfume. Taste is light fruity very nice grain and malt finish. Sweet overall.

8/8/2019. Cask at the 2019 Great British Beer Festival. Pours clear bright gold with a lasting small frothy white head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, fruit and buttered toast. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Light to moderate body, slight oily and watery texture, soft carbonation.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Cask. Almost clear pale gold beer, small white head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth light malts, a little bready. Mild floralness. Light semi dry finish. Comes over as a particularly wishy washy lager.

Cask at the brewpub. Low boost gold. Clear pale yellow coloured pour with a lasting frothy white head. Aroma is subdued, pale grains, berry. Hedgerow hop. Little hay. Flavour is composed of light straw, mineral, pale grains, earthy. Light grass. Palate is light and watery. OK, but dull.

On cask at Black Bull, Coniston - Clear yellow body, thin soapy looking white head. Nose is grassy, a bit of citrus. Taste is a bit nondescript, a bit metallic, bland.

Bottle from Asda, Keighley. Golden-orange with a small head and some carbonation. Has a bitterness but it is its English hop fruitiness that provides the dominant character, albeit a mild one.

[ As Coniston Olivers Light Ale ].Clear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, fruity, pale malt, caramel, light hoppy, grass. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, grass, fruity, citrus, malty. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20130814]
