Mermaids, those mysterious aquatic lovelies, have popped up all over the world in legend since 1000 BC. No scientific evidence has ever surfaced to support their existence, but we’re not ones to argue with folklore.

A light-bodied, crisp-drinking, nicely hopped lager. A heavy-handed addition of rye malt adds a mild spiciness, which is balanced by a light, fruity, floral hop aroma.

Draught. Poured clear dark yellow with thick lasting head. Good malty aroma, hay and spring grass with a tiny citrusy note. Medium bodied, medium flavour with a lasting hop finish. Lekker on a hot day

Bottle. ("The Chosen Spot") Pours amber-gold with a soft, white head. Lots of biscuit and caramel malt in the aroma. Flavor is sweet with a dynmic bready character, and finishes with subtle hops. Light to medium in body with average carbonation. Pretty good.

Sampled on draft at Smokin’ Joe’s in Pittsburgh PA this beer poured a pale yellow color with a medium sized white head that lingered and produced good lacing. the aroma was crisp and sharp fruity and floral hops. The flavor was tangy, sweetish and bitter with a fairly strong fruity and floral hop presence and notes of lemon and grass. the finish was long with floral hops and turned a touch dry towards the end. Medium body. Solid.

Sampled from the bottle at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a hazy light amber color with a medium frothy head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel malts, noble hops with some citrus, and an almost tea-like note. Taste is grassy hops, caramel malts, citrus and the same tea notes. Medium bodied. Decent beer.

Tap @ OTH. Pours golden, white head. Aroma, smells like wort, lots of grain and malt goodness. Flavor, load of rye?, really nothing I would expect fro a pilsner, plenty of malts quickly followed by some citrus hops and light spicy mouthfeel. Profile retain a mild caramel malt approach with a nice clean finish.
