Bright clear gold - amber beer, decent pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a touch of creamy sweetness. Spicy orange hops, some mild peel. Touches of pine and lemon. Light semi dry finish. Somewhat polite but pretty drinkable.

500ml bottle: BBD 28 Oct 2015. Poured into a vase shaped ’Old Speckled Hen’ badged pint glass at home on 19 Jun 2015. Shared with no one. Slight haze to the rusty brown body, on top a smooth beige blanket that hung around and gave off some impressive lacing. Hops all the way here, yet with a semi-sweet malty molasses backbone. Bitter, yet not overly so, fruity, yet not overly so, dry, yet not overly so. Really liked it, good depth of body and flavoursome in a hoppy sort of way: hoppy aftertaste lasts and lasts. Impressed.

Bottle from Oddbins Aberdeen City. It pours clear brown with a small off-white head. The nose is bitter-sweet, biscuit, toffee, stewed orange, leather and light marmite. The taste is bitter-sweet, woody, leather, biscuit, toffee, light alcohol, resin and marmite with a dry finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Alright stuff, but if far from blows me away. ESB territory more than IPA.

Bottle shared at chriso’s pre-Christmas tasting. Pours clear gold with a frothy white head. The nose has a bit of ripe orange, pale bread, honey. Medium sweet flavor with rindy citrus, leaves, a little wood, marmalade. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Somewhat sweet to finish with crackery malts, ripening citrus fruits, bread, rind, leaves. So so.
