Tap at Pub Kultainen Apina. Opaque colour and small beige head. Chocolate, cocoa and alcohol in the nose. Medium-bodied. Sticky, molasses, alcohol, bitterness, vanilla, chilli, cocoa and coffee in the sweet flavour. A bit thin finish.

2017 bottle. Black color with dense beige head. Aroma is vanilla, cocoa, walnuts perhaps indeed, cinnamon, quite sweet and does not seem heavy in the nose. Taste is a great combination of cinnamon and walnuts, just the right amount of chili heat in the back. A tiny touch of soy sauce in the finish, perhaps because this is not the freshest anymore. Velvety mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Immense drinkability for this strength, almost feels watery (but just almost). I like!

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up online I think, a while back. Pours deep brown with a modest, foamy beige head. Quite a tasty beer, little sweet, with notes of cocoa, black coffee, mellow spicy chilli pepper, Earth, burnt caramel. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, more bittersweet cocoa, lightly bitter coffee, lingering chilli burn. Really solid overall.

Bottle, 0.375l. Aroma of walnut, raisins, rum, vanilla, chocolate, cinnamon and cloves. Pours pitch black color with thick soapy light brown head, fair lacing and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts with sweet and rich roasted malt and chocolate, follows by bourbon, chili peppers, walnuts and wood, mouthfeel is warm and spicy, while finish is medium bitter. Full body, thick creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Spicy black gold...

The Aromas are dark malt, Earth, a little spice and cocoa. Flavors get much more interesting with vanilla coming out more along with hints of cinnamon and vanilla. In the background is the hot pepper. Unfortunately some medicinal in there too. Mouth coating body and lingering bitterness that isn't that great.
