Bottle. Clear amber body under a big off-white head. A bit weak aroma with malt, bread and some caramel. Taste is sweet malt, caramel, and bread. It seems like the spices is more than less disappeared I this year’s version. Medium body and average aftertaste. Not much going on here.

Grainy caramel flavours joined by bread, earth and herbal hops. Slightly roasted malty end. Easy to drink. Okay as a partner to our Sunday turkey (Tromsø 08.01.2017).

0.33l bottle. An enormous pop on the cap, but no gushing. In the glass this one pours a deep dark copper almost bronze colored body with a medium sized mildly lacing beige head. There's definitely spices in this. A lot! A rush of dark caramel sweetness that's been soaking in nutmeg, cloves, smoke and ginger. Even traces of black pepper and cinnamon. Reminds me of a Christmas decoration my mother had when I was a little boy. It's quite creamy on the bubbles but surprisingly thin and almost what I will call watery in the mouth. Tastes spiced up also, but luckily not as much as the aroma suggested. Nutmeg, cloves and ginger hints makes up what this tastes like. A nice hint of beefy smoke in the back. Surprisingly easy to drink, but this would definitely benefit from some more body. Strangeish but decent. 03.01.2015

Bottle. It’s a clear, brown beer topped by a small, dense, light beige colored head. The aroma is on the spiced side, with ginger, cloves and cinnamon. Bready, roasted malts. It’s dry and medium bodied on the palate, with a nice carbonation level. Roasted malts and a bread crusts in the flavor, but there’s also spices, a tad too much I think. Especially the cloves lasts too long. Sure a drinkable one, but I find the spices a bit unbalanced. Perhaps some more body and sweetness would do the trick. 141220
