This ale is brewed at Klackabacken in Önnestad from water, pilsner and carapils malt and then boiled with cascade hops and spruce shoots before it's fermented with Saison yeast. Because the Ale is unfiltered it might be a bit turbid but it will get clear if kept upright in the fridge for a couple of days. Keep dark and cool.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Ben’s place. Thanks Ben. Cloudy shiny yellow with a white head. Spicy aroma, earthy, with some zesty citrus. Rather dry flavor, citric, spicy, earthy. Quite light-bodied. Nice and refreshing.

Sampled from the tap st Churchkey. Pours a clear full yellow with a large fluffy white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma is full of spruce with a bit of light fruit and a sweet grain backbone. Flavor has notes of sweet grain, earthy bread and a touch of spruce, muddled.

330ml Bottle - Hazy golden with a small head. Lemon, pine and spice in the aroma. Tangy, sweet and fruity taste with lemon, grapefruit and pine. I feel the choice of using a saison yeast was wrong as I would like the spruce notes to stand out more, but the saison yeast overwhelms it somewhat. A nice and tasty beer but it’s not what it says on the tin as the spruce is barely detectable.

Draft pour at Churchkey. Poured a hazy yellow color with a white head. Light lemon peel, not really resinous, but pretty pleasant. Nice.

Bottle 33 cl. Hazy yellow with a frothy and lively white head. Surprisingly the dominant aroma note is yeast. Medium body, highly carbonated, very yeasty, phenollic. Spruce is normally a powerful spice but here it’s only a vague underlying sweet sensation. If the idea was to make the spruce shine you should’ve used more and you definitely should have used a more neutral yeast. 230216

Lys brun tåkete med høyreving skum. Lukter sitrus, korn og blomster. Syrlig lett bitter smak. Lite sødme. Tørr
