Bottle, thanks to Riita (Aniela) split at Colin and the Vikings tasting, Nol, Goteborg, Sweden 22/03/14 - slow gusher alter. Lightly hazed golden with a well appointed off white covering that thins to a covering then stays for the show. Nose is bitter fruit, orange, spice, pumpkin, light plastic. Taste comprises spice, straw, lemon rind, apple skins, more saison like. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, crisp close. So so affair, pumpkin saison - weird !

Bottle courtesy of aniela. Pours tiny hazy golden with a frothy offwhite head that slowly dissipates while leaving some thick lacing on the glass. Smell is tiny malty and spicy with biscuits, pie crust, ginger, cloves, lemon zest, nutmeg and hints of pumpkin gourds and rubber. Taste is tiny sour, tiny bitter, tiny malty and spicy with wheat crackers, biscuits, pie crusts, pumpkin gourds, lemon juice, hay, cloves, ginger, nutmeg, cardamom, sheet metal and hints of rubber, lemon zest and celery. Mouthfeel is tiny round, phenolic astringent and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sour, bitter and spicy with pie crusts, lemon juice, ginger, nutmeg, cardamom, cloves, pumpkin and lemon zest. Not too sweet which is nice but the rather harsh phenols brings it down.

Bottle at the "Colin and the Vikings tasting, Goteborg". Poured a hazy light amber with a thin white head. The aroma is big pumpkin yeast. The flavour is light bitter, veggie with a dry pumpkin, grainy palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Don’t like pumpkin so I was never going to like this too much.

Bottle at Sander’s place in NYC. Pours slightly cloudy orange-amber with a fine white head. Some faint pumpkin and spice in the nose, with lightly toasted malts. Flavor is light to medium sweet, some light bread, mild spiciness, slight tang, light bitterness. Medium bodied with very lively. Alright balance in the finish, a bit of pumpkin character in the aftertaste, light leafy bitterness, light nutmeg, mildly sweet. I’d say this beer is a little bit past its prime, but the heart is still there. Even still, it’s just an OK beer.
