Cask Gravity at The Hope. It pours near black with a foamy beige head. The nose is earth, dark fruit, rum, liquorice, spice, light smoke and a touch of dark chocolate. The taste is soft roasted malt, charcoal, ash, strong liquorice, earth, spice, pretty bitter really, rum and salt with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Interesting for sure, but it didn’t find it overly drinkable.
