Medium white head shrinks quite rapidly with a hissing sound. Hazy orange body with strong carbonation. Earthy fruity candy aroma with herbal wood notes. Dry-sweet-acidic mealy earthy vinegary taste. Thin body. Fizzy, oily mouthfeel. Undrinkable. Infected. (0.5l bottle, from Meny Oslo City. Batch 0089. Given that four out of four beers from Larvik have been infected I suspect they may not need that fourth digit in the batch number.)

0.5l bottle from #0089. This one pours a cloudy orangey looking body under a small really bubbly bright white and slowly sidesticking head. It has a sweet juicy fruity melon nose. Lots of sweetness, sugary with canned peaches and cardboard. Not extreme in any direction but quite sweet. It doesn't taste all that good. It's really dry and grainy. Like drinking straw water. It's as good as flat on the carbonation and it has a thin gliding oily feeling in the mouth. Bah, this really didn't want taste all that good - or ANY good for that matter. I was in the mood for a late pale ale so I took this, but this doesn't taste like a pale ale at all. More like a grain soup with thin watery fruits and a slightly acidic hint in the background. Have experienced this a lot in the beers from this brewer. Still waiting for that one beer I actually like.. Did not finish the bottle. Or the glass for that matter. 15.04.2014

Bottle 500ml @ Geokkjer
Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, yeast, old grain and hint of citrus. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

Bottle. An unclear, orange colored beer with a small, white head. A yeasty aroma with some peaches and pale malts, hints of grass and pine cones. Sickingly maltysweet flavor with some bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Acidic notes too, lemon juice and wheat. Yeast hints. Short fruity finish with yeast and wheat. Certainly gone wrong this one, as usual with Larvik. Awarding it 1.6 is being nice. 140509

500ml bottle, batch 89, picked up at Meny Oslo City. Airy white head to an unclear golden body. Fragile lacing down the glass. Moderate aroma of partially sour grass and pale malts. Unbalanced taste profile of half-way sour grain together with a fruity touch. Malt-fruity endnotes on a yeasty backbone. Thin to medium bodied. Far from good but possible to drink (hotel room, Oslo 22.04.2014).

10.04.2014, 0,5l bottle @ home:
Small bubbly shortlasting head. Aroma is kind of strange yeasty, weeds, hay, yeast, wet grain, flowers, light malts, almond essence, fiberplastic / epoxy. Taste is kind of sour-ish grainy, weeds, sour wet grain, hay, yeast, flowers, almond essence, paper, grass. Little bitterness, harsh watery mouthfeel. Drainpour!

Appearance: Clear golden color with a white head that leaves an ok lacing.
Aroma: Citric and mild malty.
Palate: Medium body. Moderate sweet and an ok bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Malty, mild fruity and mild citric.
Overall impression: Ok citric touch. But as an APA I would have expected a more flavor full ale. Ok as an premium lager.
Personal stats: On tap at source

Update: (APA) Mild, but pleasant hoppy with fruity notes. Hops is more dominating this time. Slightly better than the previous time. 50cl on tap at Larvik Mikrobryggeri. Slightly hazy (dark) golden with a white head. Aroma of caramel, fruits, malt and hints of hops. Mildly fruity and caramelly with a slightly hoppy and bitter finish. Easy to drink and quite refreshing. Fairly well balanced with a slightly dry finish. Short aftertaste. Not exciting, but quite drinkable. (5-3-5-3-12) (Staff told me it was a brown bitter.)
