Medium, dense snowwhite head over golden-orange beer. Spicy nose, somewhat sulphury malts, lightly coloured, and hints of diacetyl. Diacetyl exploding, together with DMS. almost sourish, but then again reverting to buttery-sweetish. Sticky, medium bodied, good carbonation. Meuhhh!! From De Cazeau, this? They do usually better. Thanks to Stef!

330ml bottle @ Last Beer Tasting Before Lockdown 2.0, Chez Sophie, Oct 20. Thanks Jeremy for this! Misty golden amber, fluffy white head. Passable tripel overall. Not bad, nicely sweet, pleasantly fruity with soft yeasty murmurs.. just not hitting the high notes.

Bottle from Carrefour. Pours hazy yellow with a lasting, small, foamy, white head. Aroma of ripe banana, apple, flowery honey, coriander, orange, vague soap. Taste has very sweet banana, apple & apricot, honey maltiness also giving off a bready & sugary effect; vaguely soapy with spicy coriander in the back. Dryish, fruity, bit floral hoppy finish, mostly spicy & fruity yeast lingering, glow of jenever alcohol too. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Not very refined.

One of - so far - two beers made for the Vranckaertshoeve, a pumpkin farm involved in all kinds of cultural activities, beer brewing included - but since the production of beer is not their core business, I do not see any reason as to why this company should be regarded as a brewery here. Anyway, from a paper-wrapped bottle shared by tderoeck, thanks Tim! Thick and fluffy, snow white, shred-lacing, stable head, misty golden blonde robe with yellow glow. Aroma of ripe banana, meringue, overripe pear and pear juice, Kirsch, candy apple, clove-like phenols, notable DMTS (burnt rubber), coriander, sweaty note, gin. Fruity onset, strong banana ester as expected, sweet ripe pear effect again, bubblegum, medium fizz, smooth and somewhat soapy body. Cereally and white-bready malt sweetishness with ongoing banana effect evolves into a boozy and sweet finish with first soapy coriander, then that rubbery DMTS effect and then - burning away almost everything else - a strong, 'appeljenever'-like alcohol warmth, highlighting the sweetishness of the malts and the banana ester, but working against a delicate floral hop bitterish touch. Sweet, coriandered and rather weird tripel, not entirely free of off-flavours, but still more or less interesting thanks to its somewhat unusual profile. I wonder how the apparently original Sint-Canarus version must have tasted like...
