Pours dark brown with a little bit of ruby to it. Appears to have little cloudiness but it’s hard to tell with the fairly dark color. Big khaki head. Lots of fine bubbles. Good retention with some lacing. The aroma is big on chocolate and caramel. It’s a nice mix of milk chocolate, cocoa and gooey caramel. The taste isn’t as sweet as I expected from the aroma. Lots of chocolate but it’s pretty dry. There’s a roast, coffee flavor. Mild caramel. A touch of herbal hop bitterness in the finish. Despite the dryness, the mouthfeel is fairly creamy. Nice fullness to the beer. I’m not blown away, but this is a solid porter.

Bomber from Bobby’s in Santa Clara, CA. Pours very dark brown with a big foamy tan head. Aroma is dark milky chocolate and dark malt. Med body or better. Flavor is mostly chocolate, some less than dark malt, and something suggesting citrus hop. Or floral/earthy hop. Hard to pin that down. Decent drink.

Bottle. Black-brown beer with a tan head. Roast and nutty malt aroma with light chocolate. Grapefruit and roast flavor with malt. Medium bodied. Grapefruit and roast linger with nuttiness, light caramel, and light chocolate.
