This looks like the first review of the 2016 version of 18 Hands, listed as a rustic pale ale, rather than a Belgian. Starts with a solid off white head on a clear amber body. The nose starts with a yeasty funkiness then settles down to sweet malt and a touch of spice. A nice range of elements you might expect in a farmhouse ale - banana from the yeast, a splash of citrus, roasted grain, understated earthy English hops, and touches of cloves and pepper. The Pilsner-like malt rounds it out. An appropriate mid-range body and lively effervescence.

Cask days 2014.
Lots of green hops, like fresh hop cones, some pine, light citrus, and some slightly funky grass. Light yeasty notes, light bitterness, slightly tart, funky finish.

On tap at the Loon under the name "Rustic Belgian Ale" at 5.6%. Pours a cloudy golden colour with a warm cap and some decent lacing. Orange nose ove Belgian Ale yeast giving a nice fruity sweetness with hints of pineapple. Still nice fruity taste, but well-balanced with some smooth grassy hops. Refreshing mouthfeel with a little tart from the yeast. Balanced dryness with some wetness. Quite a nice fruity Belgian-style ale.

This one poured a cloudy, medium yellow colour with a bright white, foamy head. Scents include cream; vanilla, yeast and spice. First swig was smooth with low carbonation. Flavours of hops, yeast, light vanilla and spice. Lightly bitter finish with yeasty/tea flavours lingering.
