This is a Smokefest 2022 beer. The fine folks at theMaltMiller.co.uk smoked us up some malt specially, which wanted for the cherrywood pale ale, Oblique Strategies.
This is the Monster from that brew: a somewhat old-school Imperial IPA in body, the smoke bringing depth and a drier edge, then splendidly-hopped with a sprightly combination of Amarillo and Southern Cross.

Tight white head left a creamy top on a hazy pale golden coloured body. Mango, melon & stone fruit aroma. Medium to full, soft & smooth with a lively cloying back. Melon, white wine, grapefruit & citrus tastes with a bitterly hopped finish. Deece.

Bottle. High Peak Beer and Wine. Hazed deep orange gold. Super soppy dense lasting lacing leggy white froth. Nose has cherry wood, unsurprisingly. I know how this smells btw, because we’ve been burning it for ages on the stove. Sappy pine. Overripe orange. Soggy peach. Whiff of smoke. Taste has a fruity slightly estery sweetness, turning fully bitter with lots of ripe citrus and pine. Slick and full bodied with a juicy drinkability. Mammoth bitterness to finish. Right up my street. Glorious.
