0.5l bottle from #0075. I guess you can't really describe this as anything else than black-as-coffee looking. It also has a nice medium sized bubbly deep beige head. On the nose I get lots of cardboard and cold coffee. A faint cocoa dryness and there are hints if sour wood. Pretty OK except for that cardboard and the sour wood. Traces of dry licorice as well. Oh, it has lots of that cardboard in the taste also! Lots and lots actually. In the mouth it has a light oily, almost thin feeling and it's soft almost flat on the carbonation. Lots of mouthdrying green bananas, soft sour wood, a dark ashy roastiness and a little bit of sour eggs. Hmm.. This almost tastes like it has been left out in the sun way to long. Grows a tad on you after a while, but not a very pleasant one unfortunately. 01.03.2014

500 ml bottle, batch #0075, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.0%. Black colour, moderate to low tan head. Thinnish and slightly acidic aroma, notes of thin cold coffee, hints of chocolate. Surprisingly thin mouthfeel for a 7% stout. Medium dry and slightly acidic flavour, weak notes of coffee and chocolate. Definitely room for improvement here!

Medium beige head. Opaque black body. Earthy dark chocolate aroma with roasty notes. Dry-acidic earthy chocolatey taste with roasty watery notes. Mid-to-thin body. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dry, slightly acidic, earthy roasty grainy aftertaste with lingering vinegar notes. Not undrinkable, but clearly infected. Down the drain it goes. (0.5l bottle, from wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)

500ml bottle, batch 0075, bought at Vinmonopolet Vika. A bubbly, beige head resting on top of an opaque, coal black body. Earthy malts on the nose, hints of coffee. Coffee grounds, and sweet dark malts to the taste profile offset by some kind of tartness. Malt-fruity finish. Medium bodied. Quite alright, not that well balanced though (hotel room, Oslo 13.02.2014).

From a sample tray at Larvik mikrobryggeri. Very dark, close to black with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, dark dried fruits and hints of coffee, alcohol and citrus. Medium body with slightly soft carbonation. Medium sweet with mild roasty flavours and a noticable bitterness in the finish. A bit on the sweet side, but quite well balanced. Fairly mild flavourwise, but quite nice. (2013-07-26)
