Imperial Stout Ale. This beer is big on malt resulting in a heavy, complex malt character, and warming alcohol flavor. Cherry-smoked malt from Sugar Creek Malt Co., along with chocolate and roasted malts, dominate the flavor profile. We balanced it with Willamette hops for subtle aromatic notes. Our stout, first brewed in 2011, is an homage to Theodore Mack who bought Peoples Brewery, in Wisconsin in 1970. As the first African American brewery owner, Mr. Mack was both active in civil rights work and outspoken in getting African Americans involved in local business ventures.

tap at the brewery - Pours black with a tan head that leaves heavy lacing. It smells of coffee and dark roast malt. This full bodied brew has good dark roast malt with a solid, balancing bitterness. Quite enjoyable.
