A black beer, a head is medium and light brown. Aroma has roastiness, coffee, liquorice. Taste has roastiness, chocolate, liquorice. Medium bodied, smooth. Balanced, tasteful, very nice.

Cask at Scale and Feather, Hull. Dark cola brown. Thin foamy beige head. Aroma has sweet caramel with dry malts. Flavourwise there are initial sour berries, followed by underlying caramel. Medium bodied. Slick-creamy. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Decent but nothing to get too excited about. 6.5

From cask at The Bow Bar, Edinburgh. Creamy velvety mouthfeel, soft roast, chocolate, caramel, some coffee. Moderate sweet, light to mild bitter. Very smooth and easy.

Bottle from the LCBO. Black pour, with a large, creamy looking dark brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasty malts. Coffee cake, and cocoa nibs. mouth feel is creamy, and the carb is soft and satisfying. The finish is lightly bitter, loads of cocoa flavours, and a coffee, roasty finish.

500ml bottle, pours a very dark brown with a beige head. Aromas & tastes of chocolate, coffee, toffee, wood & roasted malt. Medium body. Smooth finish. Very enjoyable
