Medium rich and a gentle perfume nose. Light, peppery overture with a deep soft-spiced finish.
We love Belgian beer at TicketyBrew, so were desperate to open with a Belgian classic: the Dubbel. A staple of Trappist and Abbey ale producers, this beer has its own identity yet differs greatly between the Belgians. We’ve gone for the darker end of the spectrum with an extra-dark candi syrup and have gone very easy on the hops to let the yeast express itself. While it may look fairly imposing, we’re confident you’ll find it goes down pretty easily.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Poured a hazy light brown with a huge frothy off white head. Almost a gusher. The aroma is sweet toffee caramel malt, red berry fruit. The flavour is strong sweet with a rich sweet malt, fruity, toffee apple, light tart medicinal palate. Medium bodied with very lively carbonation. Too sweet, way over carbonated and the bottle leaked too. Not really impressed. It's interesting to read the other reviews on here where some people have described this as a sour. I think that's more likely to be an infection and maybe there are some quality control issues going on here.

330ml bottle: BB Jun 2018. Poured into a Chimay chalice at home in the early hours of 4th Aug 2017. Beige/lightly tanned head, rusty amber body. Wasn’t expecting a sour beer, this is more like a Rodenbach Red than the usual Belgian Dubbel, still nice though. Semi-sour red berries in both the aroma and taste. Yeasty too.

330ml bottle, close to gushing out when opened. Cloudy dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma of dark berries, yeast, malt. Taste is also very fruity and quite sweet, berries, malt, yeast, spices, caramel, licorice, alcohol. Surprisingly light but also watery. Not so keen on this one.

Fra keg på Piccadilly Tap Manchester 23 Nov 15. Delt med Rune. Ultradyp rødbrun. Heftig bæraroma. Solbær? Litt surølaktig. God bærsmak. Bra - men lite variasjon.
