Shaker pint draft at Stags Head in Mid Town East, Manhattan. The pour is a deep haze brown copper, with a inch tan head. The aroma is not too much, bit nutty, a little roasty, maybe a touch of spice and rye. The taste picks up on the rye flavor, gritty spiced, some hop floral resins and then moves towards lightly roasted malt. A bit of astringency and bitterness in the back. The palate is medium bodies, soft natural carbonation and the dry bitter finish. Decent.

Growler from Big Z pours a transparent chestnut brown with some creamy, lacing white head.nose is malty, spicy, a significant rye presence, some zingy hops, lemons a little pine. Flavor is similar, malty, rye bread, a little yeast, some pine, lemon, orange. Medium bodied, dry finish.
