50cl bottle from Valmiermuiža Alus Tirgotava, Riga. Pours black with a lasting, beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, some dark fruits, hint of wood, caramel and earthy notes, Medium sweet with nice roasty flavours, hints of acidity and a fairly light bitterness. Easy to drink, tasty and quite balanced. .(BB: 23.09.2015)

Pours dark brown with a nice beige head - that is gone in seconds and leaves the beer looking relatively flat. Aroma is soft, with some roast shining though pillowy milkiness. Gives me some hints about the heavy body that I should expect. Taste profile is much to my liking - it has some roast character to it but it doesn’t become too bitter and the roast does not dominate. Also, it is not sour, something that usually happens when body is weak. The body of this one is strong and stodgy, almost completely missing carbonation making it even heavier. Velvety and soft milky stout. Not bad at all, but probably at least some carbonation would lighten things up more.
