Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close
Tidy stout.

3/5/2025. Bottle from Beer Without Borders. Pours close to black with a large frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma is malted, chocolate, ashy, liquorice, dark fruits, berries, slight smoked and peated notes. Medium sweetness, moderate roasted bitterness. Medium body, very fizzy. Shame about the carbonation, liked it otherwise.

500ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - cheers Graham!]. Jet black colour with average to huge, frothy, slowly osteoporosing, moderately lacing, dirty off-white head. Sweet-ish, oaty-grainy and slightly roasty, dark malty aroma, hints of chocolate pudding, grassy hoppy overtones. Taste is sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty and oaty malty, hints of chocolate pudding, mildly bitter, grassy hoppy overtones, subtle sweetness with a touch of lactose. Dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Balanced, homogeneous - very nice.
