10 Barrel Series - one-off beers inspired by anything and everything.
Inspiration:
The third single hop beer of the 10 Barrel Series and this time we’re using a new powerhouse hop variety from the USA – Denali. Maris Otter, Munich and Crystal malts provide the base for a big charge of late hops and generous dry hop. In a first for us, we added all the hops late in the boil – adding no bittering addition – to maximise Denali’s high oil content. As with the last two 10 Barrel Series brews, Denali Single Hop Pale Ale was fermented with a Vermont ale yeast.

Frothy white head stayed impeccably on a highly effervescent hazy sandy coloured body. Bitter pithy aroma. Medium bodied, well carbonated & quite harsh on the tongue with a clean dry finish. Very bitter tastes of pith, citrus, orange & malt hints.

Gushy fucker! Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, dry and minerally crisp. Malts are light and bring a reasonable sweetness. Denali hops bring a light pine, and modest orange peel. Their pineapple character is pretty subtle here and what there is of it is ripe. Light dry floral finish. Clean and crisp if a bit dry.
