Taster pour at Craft Beer Race New Haven. Appearance is hazy, medium brown with ring of off-white head, light lacing. Aroma is strong concord grape over caramel malty base. Taste is strong concord grape, like you added beer to Welch’s grape juice. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin, foamy texture, soft-to-average carbonation and sweet grape over mildly bitter finish. Overall, a nice idea but the grape leaves are way too dominant rather than a hint or complement.

Draft at Cinderella’s, Cambridge, MA. Dark amber/mahogany and opaque with a beige head. Aroma and taste of bread, malt, and spice. Bland and forgettable, but quite drinkable.

The Tap, Boston tap: Pours clear amber with a white head. Aroma is toffee, earthy, good bit of berry-like fruitiness. Taste is lightly bitter and quite malty. Nice finish. Well balanced. Nice beer.

A fairly good ale, on the hoppy side, from the ferry to the Vineyard. May as well buy this instead of the Miller Lite on tap.

Bottle from my sister it pours a very reddish-brown. Sweet caramel, spice, raisins & plum. The taste is bready , a bit sweet, nutty, spicy kind of gingerbread like. It pairs well with carrot cake. Nice & Simple. Oh according to the small label on the bottle’s neck this is an ESB...

Thanks to Nike for this really rare beer. Darker beer but not black. Kinda like a darker cloudy iced tea thing. From a bottle smells rather malty. Taste is malty as well, lots of malt, lacking any IPA-ish hops at all. Yes, an amber ale with some body and personality. At first it wants to come on strong then it milds-out to a more acceptable brew during the session. Has some medicinal feel to it near the end. Big thanks to Mr C for letting me be the first to rate this brew from the north east!
