Cask at Windsor Castle during the RateBeer Black Country Bus Bash. Pours clear gold with a tight, creamy head. Dry dough and straw in the aroma. Light sweet flavor with more doughy malts and light floral notes. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Good condition. Clean finish with mild bitterness and lightly dried dough sweetness. Simple and good.

Cask gravity at Kent BF 2013. Not sure it’s supposed to taste like this. Muddy earthy bitter. Hmm. Not good.

Hand-pulled half-pint in the Brewery Tap during the RB Black Country Bus trip on 6th July 2013. Yet another golden/amber coloured Bitter with an off-white head: at least it didn’t smell of Toilet Duck or any Lemon flavoured liquid. The nose and taste were floral more than fruity and the malts gave everything a semi-sweet feel. Subtle flavours more than in your face: OK, but lacked oomph! The finish was dry and getting bitter but not enough to get excited about. A standard UK Bitter really.

Black Country Beano. Cask at the Windsor Castle. Light haze on this gold beer. Good pale cream coloured head. Light palate, softish with fine carbonation. Light floral flavour, mellow marmalade. Light and semi dry finish beer but Golden fatigue starting to kick in.

Cask at the Windsor Castle, Lye on the RB Black Country Bus Bash - 06/07/13. Clear golden with a good sized off white head. Nose is toasted malts, citrus, orange. Taste comprises light hops, grass, citrus, bitter orange. Light to medium body with fine carbonation and some hop bitterness in the finish. More golden blonde than bitter due to the hoppy nature of this one.
