Tight bubbly tan head stayed on a dark mahogany coloured still body. Dark chocolate, bitter berry & malt aroma. Medium bodied, sharp over the tongue with a clean back. Bitter tangy tastes of malt, berry, citrus, hops, citrus & pith.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear, dark brown with an orange hue and a dense and lacing beige head with good retention. Rustic, malty aroma - roast and ashes. Rich, full, malty body - again this ashy roastiness, perhaps a little dark, dried fruits, but in all honesty it's fairly simple with nothing much happening. Perhaps a hint of English licorice. Hardly any bitterness. 311019

330ml bottle: BB 28th Feb 2021. Part of a four beer presentation box from the brewery, brought back by a friend. Drank at home with the other three bottles on 4th Oct 2019. Nice 'winter warmer' sort of brew. Poured a dark brown body, off-white crown on top. Malty with dark fruits in both the nose and taste, some chocolate notes from the malts, liquorice in there too. Liked it.
