Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are fruits, lactose acid, brett, malt, white wine and little hops. Little pepper in the finish.

Government shutdown beer #5, chosen to commemorate the dereliction of duty committed by the 113th United States Congress. I chose this beer because it’s a foreign concept, just like the idea of taking into consideration the will of the American people is a foreign concept to certain of our elected representatives. The beer is also retired, like the consciences of our representatives. The label displays another concept foreign to Congress, two very different people chatting amiably, arms around each other’s shoulders. The number 11 represents the combined IQ of those responsible for passing budgets for our fair country. The bottle displays a diesel stain as black as the hearts of Members of the House. The pour is cloudy, like the minds of Republicans, and gold, like the color of their bank accounts. It’s topped by a small head, something never found on the Hill. The aroma is a beautiful bouquet of flowers and delicate perfume, like the liquids our elected elite should bathe with to hide their true odors. The taste is a very funky, herbal, perfumy collection of sweaty barnyard animals, much more tasty than the revolting animals we sent to represent us. The finish lasts for minutes, longer than our Congressmen have worked during the entire year. Dany, my deepest apologies to you for comparing this sublimely delicious brew to the slimely seditious men and women on Capitol Hill. I am eternally grateful to you, Dany, for taking our minds off the living nightmare that is governance in the United States, even if just for a few moments. I am glad that we Americans are exporting our version of craft brewing to the world, and profoundly embarrassed by any who have attempted to export our perversion of democracy.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a lightly hazed golden hued body with a small white head that lasts. Aromas are musty, honey, biscuity, malty, elderflowers, vanillin, medium phenol (pepper), mild funk. Flavors are sour, orange peel, mild oak like character, black pepper, fruity, funky, grassy, and floral. Lively bubbles, dry and almost a touch crisp. Good.
