Smooth, smoky and as dark as Halloween! Roasted malts and Colombus hops give this Ruby Bitter a rich, complex character with notes of black pepper and liquorice.

Bottle. It’s a clear, dark amber colored beer topped by a finger-thick off-white head. It’s pretty toffee-ish and bready on the nose, with some caramel and grass notes. Pine cones. It’s full to medium bodied and quite dry, with dried fruits and toffee in the flavor. Lasting roasted finish with toffee. Well, it’s actually quite nice this one, but I find it too dry and one dimensional. 140301

Crosse Keys, Bank 5 Nov 12. JDW festivaløl. Dyp brun. Lavt luftig skum. Antydning til plommer i aromaen. Smaken er syrlig frukt. Stikkelsbær. Holder seg syrlig lenge med en litt tung bitter ettersmak.

Cask ale, JDWs festival, 1/3 pint at Crosse Keys. Bright naked surface to a clear, dark amber coloured body. Aroma of caramel malts followed by a malt-fruity taste character that lingers throughout. Pleasant enough (London, 05.11.2012).
