Thanks, ineedbeer. The beer is amber in color. Fairly cloudy. The head puffed up nicely at first and faded to a ring of white bubbles. The aroma is deep with earthy funk. Very reminiscent of a vintage lambic. Mushrooms, mild apples and pears, some cheese, mild vinegar, maybe some faded spice. As with many older beers, the taste is a bit of a letdown from the aroma. There’s a lot of apple juice character, some vinegar. It’s got a bit of earthy funk, but it’s much flatter than the aroma suggested. The feel is light, a bit oily. Low carbonation. Not bad for a beer of this age and with such a soaked cork. I enjoyed this beer a lot more than expected. Pretty much zero cardboardy oxidation. Wonderful funk in the aroma. Very enjoyable overall.

Bottle shared with popery, purchased from Etre. Aroma is moderately acidic with a bit of citrus. A really nice, earthy, herbal note with a slight mint character. Earthy Brett notes are similar to a nice lambic. I don?t pick up any oxidation, but there is a bit of red apple and stone fruit. Pours a fairly clear, copper-orange with a moderately large, rocky white head with decent retention as it recedes to the edges. Flavor has more red apple and is showing some oxidation. Medium light acidity with a touch of citrus and some light vinegar. Slight sweetness with moderate bitterness. Some mineral notes from the water. Light stone fruit notes and medium light herbal character. A moderate honey note as it warms. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, this aroma is really nice but the flavor is showing quite a bit of oxidation with red apple and honey becoming very prevalent. Good acidity and mineral qualities. Definitely held up better than I was expecting.

Bottle at Fastelavn Smagning 2014 @ J&C’s beer palace, Jutland Saturday Session 1 - 01/03/14. Clear golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is citric rind, lime juice, oxidised notes but not as heavy as others in the series, sweaty running top, light fart, spice. Taste comprises big lime notes, straw, spice, sprucey wood, citric peel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with bitter fruit pangs. Ok - has stood up well but really nothing to get excited about!

Bottle, 75cl. 1997 vintage. An almost clear one, dark golden in color and with a small, white head. The aroma has a lemony touch, some oxidized caramel maltyness, a touch of herbs and pepper and a bready hint. The flavor has a lovely lemony flavor, funky and faintly oxidized, with herbs and some pepper hints. Full body and a pleasant carbonation level. Dry. Lasting lemony finish with some herbs and pepper. A touch of alcohol too. Well, considering the age it’s sure a wonderful one. Sure nice. 140301
