What can we say about Bombshell? Wow, seems to be a popular starting point. So much flavour packed into a Blonde beer is unusual. The very clear flavour of grapefruit at the finish is most unusual and most delicious. It’s a beer that will change the way some people view real ale and that’s the kind of beer we can be proud of!!
A blonde beer, very refreshing on the palate with great citrus grapefruit flavours to finish..

Cask at the Squirrel, Penn Street, 12/06/17. Clear golden blonde with a well appointed white head that retains well. Nose is melon, light bread, straw, faint citric peel, grains. Taste comprises bread dough, pale malts, toasted grains, tangerine, light lemon zest, melon. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with light floral come grassy hop bitterness. Sessioned on three pints of this during the pub quiz ... a decent gold for sure!

Bottle from Millets Farm, Frilford, near Abingdon. Deep gold with a thin white head. Harsh bitterness at first but then orange and lemon come through. Hay in the long, dry, bitter finish. Maybe a little thin (although the hop resins go some way to making up for this), and maybe just a tad too bitter. But overall a pretty tasty golden ale.

Cask at the Bell, Waltham St Lawrence. Pale amber with a loose cream head; aroma of tropical fruit; soft with peachy fruit to start, then dry and biscuity with a gentle, lingering bitterness. Very moreish - no sign of any grapefruit though!

(Cask at Old Fountain, Old Street, London, 19 April 2012) Golden colour with brief, white head. Fruity nose with notes of citrus, tropical fruit, honey and grassy hops. Fruity, malty taste with citrus, biscuity malt, peaches and a mild grassy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of honey sweetness. Refreshing and quite nice.
