500ml bottle. Clear, chestnut colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white to beige head. Nuttily, toasty, malt-spicy aroma, woody, leafy hints of tobacco, underlying earthy hints of coffee powder. Taste is toasty malty and earthy, leafy, grassy hoppy, nutty, hints of Brazil nut, a touch of coffee, moss; smooth and soft palate. Very nice.

High Wycombe House Warming. Clear amber beer, thin pale tan head. Palate is smooth, semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Thin dark malts, mild caramel. Floral bitterness. Touch of dark fruits. Fairly dry and bitter finish. Is this a bitter or a mild, I don’t know, I do know that I stopped caring after a few mouthfuls.

The taste is crisp, dry, bitter, earthy, woody, leather, drying, dried fruit, leave and twig with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Decent for style.

(Cask at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London, 11 Apr 2014) Dark brown colour, almost black, with hints of ruby when seen through light. Foamy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of caramel, coffee and dark bread. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, caramel, dark bread, hints of ashes and a slight coffee bitterness shining through. Rather thin body, quite dry. Tasty and well made mild. Nice one.
