This India Pale Ale (IPA) is an aggressive wee beast that is dedicated to our friend Joseph Wood of Liberty Brewing and to all those hopheads who love drinking IPA day in, day out. Just as the term digital is all about zeroes and ones, the concept of IPA is all about malts and hops. Enjoy the rich golden malt backbone of Digital while you can... then feel it closing in as the fruity Motueka-grown hops dominate your palate and don’t ever fade away. IPA as it should be.
Style India Pale Ale
Stats ABV 5.7%
Bitterness = 57 IBU
Colour = 5.7 SRM
Malt Lager Malt, Vienna Malt, Gladiator Malt
Hops Pacific Jade, Nelson Sauvin, Southern Cross, Motueka.
Yeast Fermentis US-05

Can 33 cl. Pours golden with a slight haze and a lacing, white head. Subtle hop aroma, a little tired. Medium body, slightly sweet fruity base with a solid, late bitterness. 091219

Can. Blonde. Herbal, tea-like lemony aroma and flavor. Malty sweetish. Fruity. Low on carbon. Pineapple in the finish. Lovely!

Quite hazy golden and straw coloured body with a thinnish and slow-dying pure white head that starts at about a centimetre or so tall and fades quite slowly. Aroma of grass, light tropical fruits, a touch of flowers and grain and ending with a dash of light malt. Medium-bodied; Strong rich fruit notes showing guava, passionfruit and definitely some papaya throughout that ends with a dash of flowers and grasses towards the end, but all supported quite nicely with some grain and a touch of alcohol and funk towards the end. Aftertaste shows the balance very nicely with a pungent grainy finish and a smooth, but noticeable bitterness from the tropically fruity hop notes. Overall, a very nice beer that hits almost like a New England IPA, but the bitterness and funk shows more traditionally. I don't remember enough about the beer that I had (pre 2015) to compare this, but this can was very nice, and perhaps even better since I had it fresh, close to the source! I sampled this 33 cL can purchased from a Bottle Shop under a hotel in Manly, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia on 15-August-2019 for AU$8,00 sampled in my hotel room here in Sydney (CBD), Australia on 15-August-2019.

Draft. A hazy golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of hops, spices, malt, and fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops, spices, malt, and citrus fruits, leading to a bitter finish.

Keg, guest ale at Brewhouse & Kitchen (Milton Keynes). Shared with Finn. Lacing rings down the glass, remaining white head. Next to clear yellow-gold body. Promising smell of ripe lemon. Fresh fruity flavours, lemony hops and peaches. Fruit hoppy ending, semi sweet. Fine depth. Nice one. (12.02.2019).
