Bottle at Bruce’s Birthday batch @Craft Islington. Cheers Kenny! It pours clear golden-amber with a small white head. The nose is grainy, dough, toast, must, earth, spice and cat litter. The taste is crisp, lightly tart, pine, orange peel, pear, apple, sherbet, earth, grain and dough with a dry finish. Mediumish body and fine carbonation. Smells a bit musty, but tastes alright. OK, but I wouldn’t rush back to it.

Craft Islington. Brucie Boys Birthday Bash. Almost clear gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and dry. Light floral malt with some honey like sweetness. Nice mellow tangerine and clementine peel. Touch of syrup and a whisper of sherbet candy. Finishes semi dry. This was a grower.

2013 bottle @7.8% thanks to Kenny for sharing at Bruce’s 39th (he don’t look a day over 40!) Birthday Bash, CBC Islington 07/02/14. Very lightly hazed golden with a moderate off white head that clears quickly to pondowrk. Nose is bitter orange, yeast notes, bready, straw, caramel, pinch of spice. Taste comprises caramel, orange syrupdom, mandarins, lemon curd, touch of booze, yeast notes, light spice. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, drying closure. Solid enough Belgian strong affair.

Tap at Brewdog, Leeds. Murky, gold colour. Bubbly, white head. Borage honey sweetness. Clove. Light, ripe banana. Light hops. Taste is more of the same. Plenty of dryness toward the finish.

Keg at Brewdog Shoreditch, Saturday 18th January 2014 (1st of 2 visits) Loz & Fin Pours pale gold with an initial sweetness. Yeasty giving a spiciness, very drinkable given the abv but doesn’t stand out from a crowded pack. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Crisp golden coloured body with a light copper glow and a thin, half a centimetre tall white head with thousands of small bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma of yeast, honey, flowers, light malt, alcohol and a pungent note of coriander seed. Full-bodied; Rich malty flavour with a good twang of yeast, light earthy hops, alcohol and a good candy sweetness with a hint of fruit. Aftertaste has a nice balance of fruit notes, some malt, alcohol, yeast and a good deal of floral and honey tastes. Overall, a nice well-balanced beer with some floral notes and a nice sweetness at the end. Great to sample and well worth bringing back home! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 27-September-2013 for US$8.31 sampled at home in Washington a few hours before leaving to return back to Portland on 05-December-2013.
