Valborgsfirande är nog alla Uppsalaianervälbekanta med. Även i Finland är valborgsfirande stort, och där finns även den underliga traditionen att dricka mjöd till valborg. Det här mjödet lanseras april 2012 i Uppsala. Kanske blir det början till en nygammal tradition? Mjödet i sig är halvsött, enbart på honung från Upplands sommar med vitklöver och hallon i klar dominans. Ett väldigt, väldigt ”typiskt” och traditionellt mjöd.

First ratingBottle 750 ml at mead tasting on November 2, 2012.Clear inside of pear color, no head. Sweet, tart, berry, dry scent, also lingonberry. Sweet, honey, nice taste. Honey aftertaste. Tart, acidic, hints of sweetness and honey, alcohol, vinous, some red berries scent. Sweet, vinous, resin, honey taste. Smooth, oily mouthfeel. Warming alcohol. A bit tart finish. Bottle at Stockholm Beer and Whiskey Festival 2012. Clear light grape/green liquid. Aroma of honey, pear, raw sugar and some light booze. Taste is light sweet to medium sweet with notes of honey and pear. Really balanced. Medium to full bodied with no carbonation.
