Our Siren Noire isn't your father's chocolate stout. We've used almost 3 pounds of Belgian coco nibs per barrel. We've aged it for five weeks in bourbon barrels with vanilla beans added. A mix of dark malts gives Siren Noire a well-rounded body that is decidedly chocolatey - but without being extraordinarily sweet. Brewers Gold hops contribute an earthy spiciness, with notes of black current

Bottle. A- Burnt wood, mild cocoa. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, off white head. T- Char, roasty, mild bitterness, cocoa. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, roasty finish. O- Don't get any bourbon influence. Pretty traditional. Not bad but maybe a bit overrated.

The Aromas are dark malt, roast, cocoa, and a hint of spice. Flavors are very much like nose, on the sweet side with some heat and metallic in the Finish. But the heat is more like spicy heat not alcohol. Very little sign of the Bourbon Barrel except maybe at the very end. Good Imperial Stout but nothing exceptional

2014 vintage, purchased bottle at Redstone Liquors, Stoneham, MA. Pitch black in color with a little bit of an oily sheen on the liquid. Aroma is bourbon soaked oak spirals, chocolate, and melted caramel candy.
Flavor is mild on the bourbon with overly sweet vanilla hints. The body is medium plus with a creaminess. Mild bitter coffee grounds. Pretty good overall but would like to see a bit more bold bourbon character and a touch more body. Still pretty good drinking and a very reasonable price point at $12.99.

Superlative. On cask at Barcade. Pour, slightly ruby stout like an oil slick, barrel aging adds layers of complexity, Also sampled bottles from 2015 and 2016. Cask offering far superlative to bottled offering.
